Council 100pc behind Koori carnival

By Will Jackson

PHILLIP HALL, Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout Carnival co-ordinator, was last night left in no doubt about?? Lismore City Council??s support.

The council made it crystal clear that it was 100 per cent, definitely, without a doubt, completely, wholeheartedly, absolutely in favour of the event, to be held in Lismore over the October long weekend this year.

The council unanimously voted in favour of Cr David Tomlinson??s motion to give full support to the proposal ?V leaving Mr Hall, the co-ordinator of the event, with a big grin on his face.

Cr Tomlinson, Cr Ros Irwin and Cr Vanessa Ekins requested the motion be put to council to end community confusion about the council??s stance following a dramatic meeting last week.

Now the hard work begins for Mr Hall and the other organisers as they put together the biggest Aboriginal event Lismore has ever seen.
