CHAMBER BOSS STOLE $120,000: POLICE

By HELEN JACK helen.jack@northernstar.com.au THE former manager of Lismore Unlimited Opportunities, Peter Fraser, faced Lismore Local Court yesterday charged with fraudulently taking nearly $120,000 from the organisation over a three-year period from 2002.

He entered no plea.

Fraser, 45, was charged by Casino detectives on November 26, but was not taken into custody.

Appearing calm and dressed in a business shirt and trousers, Fraser represented himself.

He asked Magistrate Annette Sinclair for his case to be adjourned so he could seek legal counsel.

Police allege Fraser, who gives his address as Varsity Lakes in Queensland, took the money while he was LUO manager from 2002 to 2004.

It is alleged he took the funds over 68 transactions in amounts ranging from $400 to $6500.

He is due to reappear in Lismore Local Court on February 11.

There was no discussion of bail and Fraser had no conditions placed on him before his next%appearance.
