Casino kicks off big week



SEVEN days divided by four sports equals sporting heaven.

The week of smorgasbord sport begins tomorrow night with rugby league when the USA Emerging Tomahawks take on the Casino Cougars at Queen Elizabeth Park, Casino, from 6.30pm.

On Thursday, rugby union fans have their turn when the NSW Waratahs hold an open training session at Crozier Field, Lismore, from 4pm before heading to Brisbane to take on Queensland in a trial game on Saturday.

There is also a fundraising dinner at Southern Cross University involving the Waratahs on Thursday night.

Local racing fans will have a TAB meeting at Ballina on Thursday, as well.

On Saturday, the Parramatta Eels and Cronulla Sharks renew hostilities with a National Rugby League trial match at Oakes Oval, Lismore.

Local racing fans will get another meeting on Saturday, this time at Casino.

On Sunday, all eyes will focus on Coraki when some of the best Australian lady golfers line-up in the second $15,000 Optus World/Sony Ericsson Coraki Ladies Golf Pro-Am.

The tournament is officially sanctioned by the Australian Ladies Professional Golf Incorporated which means results will go towards this year's order of merit.
