Byron T-shirt givs Rex a ragging

BYRON BAY may be ready to kiss the Rex Hunt saga goodbye, but businessman Tim Wall is cashing in on the drama.

The owner of Dr Moose T-shirts and Music in Jonson Street has created a T-shirt with the slogan 'I love Byron Bay', followed by Rex Hunt's signature TV sign-off 'Yibbidy Yibbidaa'.

He said it was his way of dealing with negative publicity the town had received following a brawl between the TV star and a group of local teenagers.

"We're not putting the blame on anyone, but we don't think Byron Bay should be getting bagged when this type of thing happens in every town in Australia every weekend," he said.

"We had a few suggestions for slogans that were a bit too risque, but we think the one we've chosen is nice and subtle and should give people a laugh. It shows Byron Bay isn't as bad as what it's been made out to be."

The T-shirts were printed last week and are on sale now.
