Big changes planned for Lismore Show

By Brian Bigg

YOU may notice a few changes with the North Coast National Show in Lismore this year.

For a start it's going to be much, much bigger than ever before.

Show secretary, Janelle Hancock, says while it may have been true in the past that people need only go one day to see everything, this year every day will be different and every day will be entertaining.

Janelle says people should be aware that the show will be on different days than normal this year.

It will run from the official opening ceremony on Thursday, October 18 through to the big family day on Sunday, October 21.

In the centre ring of the show there'll be a different attraction every day.

There'll be fireworks every night, a demolition derby and speedway race, a jet car exhibition, a rodeo with bulls, broncos and bareback showjumping, circus performances, Old MacDonald's Farm, reptile displays, cattle dog trials, championship cats, championship dogs, and wood chopping to name but a few. If you can't find something every day to keep the kids amazed and entertained then they are too hard to please.

Another great new attraction this year will be the music. A music tent will go full blast throughout the show with different sorts of music to suit all tastes.

One person who will be able to relax at the show this year will be Lismore hairdresser, Jessica Winslade. Jessica was Miss Showgirl 2006, judged on her poise, presence and etiquette.
