Bateman primed for more success

DEFENDING national women's champion Rebecca Bateman has one goal heading into the second and third rounds of the Australian Supermoto Championship this weekend more success.

The titles will be raced at Mt Sugarloaf Kart Raceway, near Newcastle.

After dominating the opening round at Oran Park Raceway in late August, Bateman is a raging favourite, but she is not getting ahead of herself.

"Of course I'm aiming to continue my winning ways, as every time I race I want to win, so this weekend is going to be no different," Bateman said.

"The main aim is to consolidate my lead in the championship and improve on my opening round performance. Even though I won all three races, there is always room for improvement."

The Husqvarna Racing Team factory rider is in fine form but she knows there are plenty of eager riders aiming to keep her on her toes.

"I'll need to be on the top of my game to walk away with success this weekend," Bateman said.
