Bangalow waves off cherished resident

FRIENDS and family of Harry Clauson yesterday waved their final goodbye to the well-known Bangalow man.

Mr Clauson, affectionately known as 'H', passed away peacefully in the Lismore Base Hospital last week and was farewelled yesterday during a funeral service held at the Mullumbimby Anglican Church.

The 84-year-old Feros Village resident was well known as the man who sat outside his home every morning while smiling and waving to passing vehicles.

Mr Clauson attracted such an enthusiastic response from passers-by that he had to make a sign urging drivers to wave, but not beep their horns to limit early-morning noise.
