Ambler boost for promoted Lennox

by Mark Robinson

LENNOX HEAD Soccer Club has received a major boost for its debut season in Far North Coast Tursa Premier League soccer next year, with the signing of Mark Ambler as coach.

Ambler is one of the best qualified coaches in the region and has an association with the club dating back to its foundation years.

"Having earned promotion to the premier league ushers in a new era at the club and with tremendous prospects for growth, the future looks bright," Ambler said.

Ambler's experience includes time in Europe and the AIS, being head coach of the North Coast Academy of Sport, a coach educator, time with the NSW Institute of Sport and most recently as a full-time coach for the Northern NSW Soccer Association.

Ambler has not coached in the local Premier League since being at the helm of Goonellabah and then Workers from 1988 to 1990, and is looking forward to helping Lennox Head make an impact in 2006.

"Recruitment is needed to complement what's already here and any new players out there are welcome to make a new start with Lennox," he said.

"With the addition of a few key players, staying in the highly competitive Premier League for more than just our debut season is a realistic prospect," he said.
