BYRON-based Greens MLC Ian Cohen went surfing at Bondi on Sunday to make waves rather than catch them.

His plan was to interfere with the APEC leaders' sex lives by reminding their wives, who were enjoying lunch at Bondi Pavilion, they hold sway on the path of humanity.

Mr Cohen had painted the word Lysistrata on his 2.75m surfboard to enlighten the women on Aristophanes' play of the same name in which Ancient Greek wives refused sexual favours to force their husbands to end a war.
