Advisory council looking healthy
DOCTOR Sue Page is confi- dent the 12 newly appointed members of the North Coast Area Health Advisory Council (AHAC) will do their job, and strive to improve ailing health services across the region. As chair of the council Dr Page said the newly appointed AHAC members were chosen to provide local clinical and community leadership.
"We want to ensure we are hearing all voices and to spot when people aren't speaking up on an issue, instead of fo- cusing on those who are good at speaking out," she said. "If there are different opin- ions, our role is to work out how to find the middle ground. "These people were chosen from a list of applicants that was over 350 pages long and
I'm sure each will bring an individual level of expertise and skill to the committee," she said. All members of the council will meet in the first week of December for a two-day orien- tation forum. Members from the North- ern Rivers region include Dr Christopher Ingall, Hazel Bridgett, Scott Wagner and Dr Janice Herbert.
