A State of excitement

FAVOURITE Fools State last night took out the $26,500 Lismore Workers Club Cup (520m) at the Colemans Point greyhound raceway in Lismore. Starting from the inside box in the rich final, Fools State won by just over a length from long-shot Phantom Dancer, with another outsider Cruz Pro three lengths further back in third place. The time of 29.65 seconds was outside the track record 29.42 seconds recorded by fourth-placed Oxley Fawn in winning a heat of the cup a week ago and qualifying fastest for last night's final. Fools State is trained by Reg Kay at Lowood, near Ipswich.
