Another coup for FNC soccer
FOOTBALL Far North Coast has kicked another massive goal.
Its general manager Steve Mackney yesterday released details of a proposed visit next month of two senior coaching technicians to Lismore as part of a four-day coaching seminar.
Announced in the company of former Socceroo and SBS soccer analyst Craig Foster, the signing of National Technical Director of Football Han Berger and Assistant National Director of Football Alistair Edwards was described as a ‘major coup never before attained by a national country centre’.
The pair will help deliver the National Football Curriculum on January 22 and 23, with a focus on senior coaches, before the emphasis switches to techniques for younger players on January 24 and 25.
But that too came loaded with a double whammy announcement of world proportions yesterday.
The final two days of the seminar will be run by Ruben Della, the technical director of Barcelona Escola, which is officially rated the finest soccer academy in the world.
“These three have tremendous knowledge, and never has Australia had such an opportunity to learn,” Craig Foster said yesterday.
“For two full days Berger and Edwards will be lecturing on the way forward.
“It will undoubtely be the highest quality education football seminar experienced in Australia.
“Then to be concluded by Ruben Della is mind-boggling.
“It is sound recognition of Football Far North Coast’s desire to be the finest football education region in the country and confirms the spirit of progress in the region.”
