Alzheimers attacks support network
ALZHEIMERS is a disease that not only affects the person who suffers from it but also their loved ones – friends and family, who may not know how to interact or treat the person they want to support..
With currently 269,000 people in Australia suffering from dementia, future numbers are projected to double by 2030.
Alzheimer’s Australia NSW is holding a free seminar for friends and neighbours of a person with dementia to help them deal with this rising condition.
The two-hour seminar is designed to inform family and friends about what dementia is and how it affects both the person with the condition and those supporting them.
The seminar includes tips on meaningful interaction with the person whether they are at home or in residential care, and ways in which family and friends can stay in touch with the person and provide support.
The seminar will be held on Wednesday, June 8, from 6-8pm at the Casino RSM Club, Casino.
Registration is essential and can be done by calling Judy Bartholomew on 0418 412 127 or email email@example.com.
