Alstonville to take on Lismore Thistles

ALSTONVILLE will take on Lismore Thistles in a top-of-the-table tussle of the Summer Youth League at Crawford Park tonight after downing rivals South Lismore 3-1 last Friday.

The young Villa outfit had a convincing win over Souths despite being hard hit by player unavailability due to Year 12 commitments and celebrations.

Midfielder Ricky Hanna again notched two impressive goals against Souths to take his tally this season to an amazing 13 goals from the six matches he has played.

Jake Easson scored the other Villa goal, a reward for his valiant effort playing for more than half the game with an injured left leg.

Once again the defence, led by Luke Waldrop, was solid and provided good support going forward.

The midfield worked tirelessly without a break, winning the ball frequently and creating a number of goal-scoring opportunities.

Tonight’s match against joint competition leaders Thistles kicks off at 8pm at Crawford Park, Alstonville.
