Alstonville family wins $1000 gift card through the Star

LIKE many families with teenagers, the Reades rack up a fair amount at the supermarket checkout each week.

That's why Kathy Reade, of Alstonville, was so pleased to win the Free Groceries competition run by finda.com.au and The Northern Star.

She has picked up a $1000 Coles gift card - something she can definitely put to use.

"I always spend a lot of money at the supermarket," Ms Reade said.

"I have a 15-year-old son who is eating me out of house and home. I have a 13-year-old daughter, too, but she doesn't eat quite as much - at least, not yet.

"We like to eat healthy, and fresh fruit and vegetables do cost a lot.

"Winning this $1000 gift card is great - it's $1000 I don't have to spend."
