Alcohol robbers on the run

POLICE are searching for two men who stole alcohol from a Goonellabah bottle shop before assaulting one of the employees.

At 8:35pm last night, police say two aboriginal males went to the IGA Express Liquor Store on Rous Road and stole bottles of alcohol.

As they attempted to leave, a 17-year-old bottle shop employee stopped them and an altercation erupted.

The employee was allegedly hit in the head, leaving him with a small laceration.

The offenders fled the scene before police arrived.

Paramedics treated the employee at the scene.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the bottle shop and have released descriptions of the alleged offenders:

The first offender is described as male about 18 years-old, 180cm tall of aboriginal appearance, wearing black track pants with white stripes down the sides, a black hooded jumper with red design on the lower back and a green mask.

The second offender is described as male, about 13-16 years-old, of aboriginal appearance, with curly black hair wearing a burgundy broncos cap with a black brim, blue t shirt with black and red board shorts.
