I SAW Miley Cyrus on British talk show Alan Car: Chatty Man recently, talking about why she called her new album Bangerz.

She said every song on the album is "bangerz", aka there are no fillers.
I'm not sure I agree with her.

The album's 13 tracks are certainly cohesive. They all fit in her new dance/electro pop direction and you can certainly picture her twerking to them.

But there are a few weird ones like 4x4, featuring Nelly, and Do My Thang that are overly repetitive and feature Cyrus attempting to get her Southern-flavoured rap on.

Rather than rushing like a bull through the gates, the album's opener Adore You is a love ballad of sorts which is presumably written about Cyrus's former fiancé Liam Hemsworth.

It shows of her respectable vocals, which sound Auto-Tuned on some of the other tracks, before leading into her party anthem We Can't Stop.

Ignoring its attention-grabbing video, Wrecking Ball is actually not a bad song and certainly one of the strongest vocally on Bangerz.

Cyrus's duet with Britney Spears, SMS, reminds me of everything I don't like about K$sha.

#GetItRight features composer Pharrell William's groovy guitar and drum work. It's catchy and would be easy to sing along to if not for lyrics like "I feel like I got no panties on".

Album closers Maybe You're Right and Someone Else are the non-offensive dance pop anthems that many parents probably wish the former Hannah Montana star had gone with for her entire album.

Out of the three bonus tracks on the deluxe edition, On My Own is worth a listen and reminiscent of Michael Jackson from the Thriller era.

The production on Bangerz is great and Cyrus has a good set of pipes but this album is not going to be most people's cup of tea, especially if you're over 25.
