Business wins on 'green tape'
A BILATERAL agreement to streamline environmental assessments has been called an important milestone to reduce the regulatory burden on business.
Federal Environment Minister Greg Hunt said new One-Stop Shop reforms would save Australian businesses about $420 million every year.
"It will create a single assessment process that satisfies both state and federal government requirements," he said.
"We can cut red tape and streamline approvals, and importantly, we can do it without compromising high environmental standards"
