Triplets born to first-time parents

AFTER trying for four years first-time parents Krishna and Devang Mishra have had their prayers answered three-fold.

"God has give me three at a time and I was hoping for a baby girl and here she is," Mrs Mishra said.

The triplets Vashisth (boy, name means eldest), Ananya (girl, name means unique) and Aditya (boy, means successful) were born healthy at 34 weeks and four days at 9.18am Tuesday morning.

They were the Toowoomba Hospital's first set of triplets since 2007.

The Toowoomba Hospital acting nursing director of women and children Jeff Reeves said the caesarean birth was a full-scale operation involving about 30 people.

"Meetings had to be held beforehand and it was a mixture of nursing staff and medical specialists," he said.
