Ad pulled over mistaken age

The ad was removed after a complaint was made that the actress "appears to be very young". QTC

LOOK at the image to the right. What do you see?

The Advertising Standards Board saw a woman, who "regardless of her actual age, appears to be very young - at most, a young teenage girl".

The person who made the complaint against the Queensland Theatre Company print advertisement said it made them "feel ill" and labelled it "suggestive of paedophilia".

The Queensland Theatre Company saw two "accomplished" 26-year-old actors, embodying the "core essence" of the star cross'd, but doomed lovers, Romeo and Juliet.

Following the complaint about the image to the advertising watchdog and subsequent investigation, the QTC voluntarily removed the ad from their print and outdoor advertising, but continue to use it in on their website.

The advertising board upheld the complaint, which centred around how young the actress, Melanie Zanetti, appears in the image and found the photo breached the advertising code.
