Accolades for our Katelyn

CONGRATULATIONS to Katelyn Stevenson for being a part of the Northern Rivers Breakers under-17s girls' Aussie rules team which took out the Queensland State Championships.

The team went through the competition undefeated and beat Townsville in the final.

Katelyn played well all week in her normal role in defence and also swung into attack kicking crucial goals.

Katelyn was also a member of the U14 Casino RSM Lions team that went down by a point in a grand final thriller six weeks ago.

The Queensland championship win is a well earned success for Katelyn who has worked hard for four years and battled it out with the boys week in and week out to get the crucial job at full back each week.

She joins a team of girls who come from similar situations with different clubs across the North Coast who, like Katelyn, relish the opportunity to be involved in a rapidly growing sport for girls around Australia.
