Pacific Highway reopens after Pimlico crash

4.45pm: POLICE have reported that the Pacific Highway at Pimlico has now reopened to traffic after being closed for more than four hours. 

Vehicles travelling both north and south had been redirected while investigators were on the scene.

 

 

2pm: THREE people have been transported by ambulance to Lismore Base Hospital following the multiple vehicle at Pimlico.

A 30-year old man in a serious but stable condition suffering from head and chest injuries was taken from the scene via ambulance, as was two other people from his car - a female and a child both suffering from minor injuries. 

 

12:45pm: A MAN is being treated by paramedics at the scene of an accident on the Pacific Highway involving multiple cars and a truck near Pimlico, approximately 200m south of Pimlico Rd.

An Ambulance NSW media spokeswoman said the man was suffering head and chest injuries and was being treated in his vehicle, although he was not trapped.

He is expected to be transported to hospital via ambulance and is in a stable condition.

All other occupants of the vehicles would require further medical attention, the spokeswoman said.

The Pacific Highway is blocked in both directions. 

 

12:30pm: PARAMEDICS and police are en route to Pimlico on the Pacific Highway following reports that two cars and a truck have been involved in a serious accident.

It is believed this accident will cause a major shut down of the Pacific Highway.
