A truckload of watermelons for sale

MARIKA Gava, who works at Lemos in Casino, said the shop was selling between 70 and 100 watermelons each day.

"They were late this season," Ms Gava said.

Rino Gava, who picks the watermelons at his farm in Piora, is never late. Every morning he delivers a ute tray full of watermelons.

Costing $5 each, by the end of the day the tray is empty.

Lemos will be selling watermelons until the end of January, Ms Gava said.

Watermelon prices can vary.

At major supermarkets, they haven't been handpicked by Rino Gava.
