Comedians join forces for Women Like Us

STAND UP comedians Mandy Nolan and Ellen Briggs join forces in Women Like Us.

The seasoned comedians deliver two hours of rapid fire, sharp, honest, sometimes self-deprecating, somewhat irreverent stand up comedy for audiences who love their humour straight from the lip.

In demand on the comedy circuit and adored for their ability to find the humour in everyday experiences, Mandy Nolan and Ellen Briggs believe it's their regional lives that gives them strength in country audiences.

"We both live in Mullumbimby in Northern NSW. Our life experiences seem to parallel the audiences that we talk to," Nolan said.

"We're 40 something mothers of teenagers, we're wives, and ex wives. Ellen can wrangle a snake and operate a ride on mower in the afternoon, and by evening she dons heels and a frock and she's MCing a charity ball."

Some of the topics they cover are parenting, the beauty industry, getting older, getting fatter, strange surgeries, weird TV shows, obsessions and a variety of shared frustrations.

At the Starcourt Theatre in Lismore on Saturday, June 20, from 8pm. $27.20.
