Teen charged over burglary, police search for others

A 16-year old boy has been charged with an alleged burglary in Casino on Saturday night, and police are looking for his supposed accomplices.

Just after 11pm three people were reported to be breaking in to the Matilda service station on Johnston Street in Casino.

After breaking through the glass panel door the youths reportedly took property from the store, Inspector Nicole Bruce said.

By the time police attended the people had left the scene, but after canvassing the area police spotted a youth and gave chase, and apprehended him a short time later.

He allegedly had in his possession items taken from the store, Inspector Bruce said.

Police are using CCTV footage to help identify the other offenders, she said.

One youth has been charged with aggravated break and entry and will appear in Grafton Children's Court on October 15.
