Security film released of Lennox Head hold-up man

A GUNMAN who robbed the Lennox Head Southern Cross Credit Union remains at large, with police now releasing images of the robbery in the hope someone in the community might recognise the bandit.

The thief, originally estimated to be aged about 30, but now described as between 40 and 50, robbed the credit union at gunpoint about 3.30pm on Tuesday before fleeing on foot.

The man escaped with the credit union's money, despite an intensive search of the area.

The man is described as 165cm tall with a medium to fit build, and of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance.

He had short dark hair and hairy arms and was wearing white joggers with dark trim, light blue denim jeans, a dark rugby-style jumper, a denim baseball cap with a suede tan peak. He was carrying a blue denim shoulder bag.

Anyone with information should call Ballina police on 6681 8699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
