THE international tourism industry in Australia is being urged to put their thoughts on supply and demand, and the role of aviation policy, for a new research project.
On Tuesday, the Productivity Commission announced it was starting a new research project examining the in-bound international tourism industry.
The research paper, which could lead to policy recommendations, will look at trends and demand in in-bound tourism, as well as wider government regulation and its effects on the industry.
It will also examine the role of aviation policy and its effects on the market for flights to Australia, as well as land management and the use of environmental, cultural and heritage areas.
The commission has called for submissions from any interested parties - inside or outside the industry - for input into the project, by November 28 this year. - APN NEWSDESK
