Palmer still undecided on Queensland Senate run
CLIVE Palmer has not yet decided whether he will run for a Queensland Senate seat at the coming election, after pledging not to stand again for the Lower House seat of Fairfax on the Sunshine Coast.
Mr Palmer held a media conference in Canberra yesterday to launch the Palmer United Party's Senate team.
He was interrupted, however, by Townsville-based Ewen Jones MP, who demanded the Senator "give back $74 million" to the 800 Queensland Nickel employees seeking redundancy payments under a Federal Government entitlements scheme.
Mr Palmer was also asked whether he would use funds from the refinery or his other companies, including the Palmer-Coolum Resort and Mineralogy, to bankroll the PUP's latest campaign.
He said he expected most donations to the party would come from members, but those companies were his and he could do as he liked with the funds.
