Nominate kids for annual awards

YOU only have until Friday to get your nominations in for the annual Kids in Community awards. Established in September 2000, the regional awards aim to recognise kids who have made positive contributions to the community.

Lennox Head teenager Tanyn Lyndon is in the running for a Kids in Community award this year after being nominated by Southern Cross School K-12 staff member Greg Anderson.

“Tanyn is an amazing young person well known throughout the Northern Rivers for a variety of reasons and I am extremely proud to be able to nominate him,” he said.

Kids in Community president Des Kelly said there were many other young people in the community who ‘deserve recognition for their efforts’.

There are three main categories and nine sub-categories for the awards, including young people supporting the community, young people achieving and community supporting youth with two age groups, 13-18 years and 18-24 years in each of thecategories.

You can pick up a nomination form at high schools or branches of Southern Cross Credit Union, or go to the KIC website www.kic.com.au
