Man dead after police respond to domestic violence incident

A MAN died in central NSW after police responded to a domestic violence incident.

The 45-year-old man was shot once in the chest at a Bangalow St, Ettalong home on Sunday morning.

He was taken to Gosford Hospital where he died shortly later.

Police attended the home after reports of a domestic incident. He was allegedly carrying a knife.

No police officers were injured during the incident. The NSW Police Homicide Squad will investigate the man's death. Police have asked anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
