DEAR How Do I Business?
My boss is always telling me I'm doing things badly.
He never likes the way I do things, and constantly complains that I'm costing him time, money and customers.
My question is, how do I make him see how wrong he is?
I'm afraid that your boss isn't wrong, you really are useless.
But it's okay, it really is. You just need to understand that life is stressful for employers and it's your job to make their lives easier.
Take your boss for example. I bet his day is nothing but meetings and business activity statements and fretting about cashflows. Have you stopped to think what effect this is having on him?
Of course he's going to vent at you.
Costing your boss customers really is something you should work on improving. Why did you think it was a good idea in the first place?
You should show your gratitude that he's given you a job. If he questions your commitment, work a few extra hours unpaid. If he snaps at you, come in on your weekend.
When was the last time your boss went on a holiday? You could offer to take over the shop for a while if you weren't so terrible at what you do.
Why not offer a massage from time to time? Maybe your boss just needs a good cuddle.
