Hornets net seven goals

GOONELLABAH has stormed into the Football FNC Tursa Anzac Cup soccer semi-finals with a 7-0 thrashing of Lismore Workers at Weston Park, Goonellabah, on Tuesday night.

The Hornets led just 1-0 at half-time after Daniel Morrow scored a 30-metre screamer.

But they cut loose after the break, smashing six goals past a shell-shocked Workers in the second half.

Dave Arnetts and Mario Tinning bagged two goals apiece, with Matt Dorigo and Shaun Dronfield also finding the net.

The performance stamps the Hornets as one of the sides to watch this year.
