TWO Buderim girls made it on to London's Daily Mail website after they rubbed shoulders with one of the world's most influential figures in entertainment, Simon Cowell.

Amie Partleton and Emma Baker were holidaying in Barbados, in the Caribbean, this week when they spotted Cowell returning to the beach after a jet-ski ride.

The famed television executive, most known for his role as judge on shows like American Idol and British X Factor, caught the eye of photographers because he was holidaying with his former flame, Sinitta.

"We were taking an afternoon walk along the beach," Emma said.

"My auntie is here with us and is from England.

"She is a huge fan and she spotted him coming in on his jet-ski right near where we were walking.

"The next thing we know the paparazzi were surrounding us."

Amie has been working as a stewardess with a yacht company in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.

Emma, who is engaged to Amie's brother, is a marketing coordinator at The Events Centre Caloundra.
