Police investigate fatal semi-trailer crash at Bexhill

BREAKING: A MAN has died after his car collided with a semi-trailer at Bexhill overnight, police report.

About 8.30pm Friday, the southbound semi-trailer clipped a northbound Toyota Camry sedan on a sweeping bend on the Lismore-Bangalow Road, Bexhill, before colliding with a Honda Civic.

The occupants of the Toyota - a 31-year-old German National and his 27-year-old brother - were uninjured and the driver of the Honda, a 59-year-old man, died at the scene.

Police from Richmond Local Area Command and Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, as well as other emergency services, responded to the incident

The heavy vehicle driver, a 63-year-old man, has spoken with police and he has also undergone mandatory drug and alcohol tests.

Inquiries into the cause of the fatal crash are ongoing.
