FIFA called to investigate Qatar World Cup deaths

FOOTBALL's governing body Fifa has again been asked to investigate the number of deaths involving workers employed on the construction of infrastructure for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The call comes after official documents show 185 Nepalese men alone died last year on World Cup projects in the country.

Nepalis make up about a sixth of Qatar's population of migrant workers. The verified number of deaths for 2013 does not include workers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka who make up a significant percentage of the workforce.
