Easybeats frontman Stevie Wright dies aged 68
FORMER Easybeats frontman Stevie Wright has died in hospital at the age of 68.
The ARIA Hall of Famer is considered Australia's first truly international rock star, recording such hits as Friday on My Mind and She's So Fine with his Sydney band.
His output as a solo artist included 1974's Evie, an 11-minute rock ballad that remains one of Australia's highest selling singles.
Wright died on Sunday night with son Nick by his side, after falling ill on Boxing Day.
