57-yr-old dies in Coolamon Scenic Dr crash

POLICE have confirmed a 57-year-old man was killed in a single vehicle crash near Mullumbimby yesterday afternoon.

At about 1.50pm, the man was driving a Holden utility north on Coolamon Scenic Dr when he lost control of the vehicle.

The ute left the road, rolled and collided with a tree.

Police, paramedics and RFS crews attended the scene and found the man alive but he died before he could be freed from the ute.

Officers from the Ballina Crash Investigation Unit examined the crash scene and investigations into the incident are continuing.

A report on the man's death will be prepared for the coroner.
