450,000 reasons to fly

WHEN Bruce Golsby was called back to the check-in counter at the at the Ballina Byron Gateway Airport he wasn’t worried, but he was a bit curious.

The last thing he was expected was to be greeted with balloons and gifts.

“It was a big surprise,” Mr Golsby said, with a huge smile plastered across his face. “This is terrific.”

Mr Golsby was named the 450,000th passenger through the Ballina Byron Gateway Airport and follows a year of record breaking figures.

Airport manager Neil Weatherson said it was great milestone for the regional airport, and it was good to be able to give something back to passengers at Christmas time.
