4 bags of Ice, knives, masks and MDMA found in man's car

A MAN has been arrested after a treasure trove of drugs and other items were found in his car.

Police allege that around 1:45am on Sunday Richmond Highway Patrol were conducting speed enforcement on the Bruxner Highway Tatham when a sedan was detected travelling well above the speed limit, Senior Constable David Henderson said.

Police followed the vehicle which took several turns before stopping in the driveway of a farm.

The driver, a 35-year-old Port Macquarie man, produced a cancelled driver's licence as identification.

Police formed a belief there may be drugs in the car and carried out a search, Snr Const Henderson said.

They located $6,350 cash, 4 bags of methylamphetamine, 5 capsules of MDMA (ecstasy), masks, knives, drug paraphernalia and items linked to drug supply.

The man also had an outstanding arrest warrant.

he has been charged with: supplying a prohibited drug; dealing with the proceeds of crime; exceeding speed limit by 30km/h; custody of a knife; driving whilst cancelled; and an outstanding warrant.

He will appear in Lismore Local Court on Monday.
