Carers pampered

FOR a few hours this week, 30 Lower Clarence carers left their worries behind and enjoyed a free lunch in their honour.

The lunch at Yamba was the Lower Clarence Carer Support Group's way to celebrate Carers Week. The carers were of various ages and backgrounds and care for a range of loved ones, including partners, parents, children and friends.

“The majority of our carers are carers of children with disabilities and aged-care carers,” group co-ordinator Jo Vestergaard said.

The Lower Clarence Carer Support Group meets at Yamba once a month, providing a few precious hours of time out for carers.
