Beef Week Queen contestant Anna Imeson was crowned the 2015 Beef Week Queen on Saturday, May 23.

Age: 21.

Cattle Breed: Limousin.

About Anna:

I was born and raised in Casino. I currently work at PRD Nationwide Real Estate as a property officer whilst studying as a paralegal part-time at Southern Cross University in Lismore.

Hobbies and interests:

Spending time with family and friends, cardio tennis and listening to country music. I am also very interested in war history.

Goals for the future:

To further my career in real estate and maybe one day finally graduate university.

Why do you want to be crowned Beef Week Queen?

I've always attended Beef Week with my family and for many years have dreamt of entering the queen competition which I entered this year as I saw it as being a good way to get involved in our local community. I want to show the younger generations that Beef Week is not something to be "ashamed" of and that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.

If you were Casino's Mayor for a day what would you do?

I would implement activities and mentoring programs for the youth of Casino to get them into employment. This would hopefully encourage more businesses to open their doors and keep the younger generation in town. rather than relocating for University or Employment.

Favourite Casino Beef Week memory?

My favourite memory of Beef Week would be spending the Saturday down the street watching the cattle judging and the wood chopping with my Dad and then the parade of the afternoon.

Name: Jade Cole

Age: 18.

Cattle Breed: Charolais.

About Jade:

I am a born-and-bred country girl, growing up in Kyogle. I'm currently in Year 12 at Kyogle High. I work three jobs casual at Horseland Lismore, waitress at my local café Cawongla Store and I run my own business of breaking and retraining horses while helping my father with the farm.

Hobbies and interests:

My family on both sides has had horses in their blood for generations. I love competing and like to challenge myself by retraining difficult horses and breaking in young horses.

Goals for the future:

I am interested in nutrition and healthy lifestyle, hoping to have a job that will improve the health of individuals. I also want to travel and see the old cultures around the world.

Why do you want to be crowned Beef Week Queen?

My family has been in the beef industry since I can remember and recently have retired due to the struggle of meat pricing. It would be great honour to continue being a part of the beef industry in our local community.

If you were Casino's Mayor for a day, what issue would you address?

Making a change to the beef pricing. As the price of the beast hasn't changed in 20 years but the pricing of meat on the shelves has increased, who's the middleman making the money? It seems to be a growing trend in our primary industries today, putting the strain on our farmers.

Favourite Casino Beef Week memory?

Having the opportunity to prepare and lead our school steer in the auction.

Goals for the future:

One day I hope to be a business development manager, mainly because I love the thought of travelling for work. But my short-term goal is be happy and to just finish my degree.

Why do you want to be crowned Beef Week Queen?

It just seemed like a fun, light-hearted way to get involved in Casino Beef Week and the community.

If you were Casino's mayor for a day what issue would you address?

I know it's a lot to achieve in a day but the first issue would be holding a career day to decrease the level of unemployment within the community. The second issue would be encouraging community and youth groups to create partnerships with schools in educating and promoting drug awareness.

Favourite Casino Beef Week memory?

I think Casino Beef Week is a time of year that all local kids look forward to. My favourite Casino Beef Week memories were hopping of the bus and heading down town with my friends to the Breakfast with the Butchers before school.

Age: 18

Cattle breed: Braford

About Nicole:

I enjoy working with animals and I have grown up around large and small animals. I lived on a farm on the river for seven years and I have two sisters, one brother and one very close net family. I have lived in Casino my whole life.

Hobbies and interests:

I like anything to do with animals, 4WD, camping and farm work. I love horse riding and hope to own my own horse in the near future. Cattle showing was also a big part during school.

Goals for the future:

I want to own my own farm with cattle and horses one day but for now I am hoping to continue my work as a vet nurse for many years to come.

Why do you want to be crowned Beef Week Queen?

It is a good way to get out of my comfort zone and meet more people in the community. I thought it would be a good chance to help with my confidence and socialize with more community members.

If you were Casino's Mayor for a day what issue would you address?

As a Mayor, I would add more parks to the town, more trees and foliage around Casino as well as having more paintings and artwork around town.

What's your favourite Casino Beef Week memory?

My favourite Beef Week memory is helping with Little Valley Bradfords during Beef Week with washing, feeding and watering all cows before showing them. Helping younger kids be a part of the showing and let them know how to prepare cattle.
