$20,000 win on $2 scratchie: 'I didn't believe it'

A NORTH Coast woman says she has "got the giggles" after winning a massive $20,000 on a $2 instant scratch-it Christmas ticket.

She received the scratchies as a Christmas present from a family member.

"I had the ticket on the kitchen table and as I was sitting there I thought 'I'll scratch one of those scratchies now, I can't wait til Christmas'," the winner revealed.

"When I scratched the ticket, I didn't believe it! It was just such a thrill.

"I've been having a nervous breakdown hoping I was seeing the ticket right and now I know I was - thank you, thank you, thank you!

"Oh, I'm so excited.

"I'm so thrilled I scratched the ticket when I did - otherwise I would have gone through Christmas and not even known!

"Now it's confirmed I've really got the giggles! Thank you, thank you so much, I'm shaking.

"Oh it's just so exciting, it's just wonderful. Now I'll be able to visit my family for Christmas."

The generous woman said she would share her instant prize with her family buying them something extra for their Christmas gifts.

"I'll go out shopping and buy everyone something extra for their gift this year. But I'm going to keep news of my windfall a secret," the winner said.

"I'll have a glow and no one will know why!"
