100K meth seizure in Ballina
TWO men have appeared in court today charged in relation to an alleged $100,000 drug seizure in Ballina.
Around 4am today, police attached to Richmond Local Area Command stopped a vehicle on Kerr Street, Ballina, in relation to a driving complaint.
After stopping the vehicle, police became suspicious as neither of the two occupants owned the vehicle.
Upon searching the vehicle, it is alleged police located packaged methylamphetamine and drug testing kits.
Both occupants were arrested.
One man was charged with commercial supply and the other man charged with knowingly take part in the commercial supply of methyl amphetamine.
Richmond LAC duty officer, Inspector Matthew Kehoe said it was a great result.
"Police were vigilant conducting a thorough search that uncovered the alleged methyl amphetamine," he said.
"Those drugs have an estimated street value in excess of $100,000 and due to the good police work; the drugs will not make it onto the streets of NSW."
