10 things we are going to miss about daylight saving
WITH daylight saving coming to an end this weekend (Don't forget to turn your clock one hour at 3am this Sunday - changing the time to 2am), we thought we'd reflect on the things we love about Daylight Saving:
Being able to swim or surf after work
Who doesn't love being able to do something outdoors after you finish a long day at work?
As one of our journalists said "(I love) feeling like you have a life outside work".
Should we have daylight saving all year round?
This poll ended on 08 April 2016.
This is not a scientific poll. The results reflect only the opinions of those who chose to participate.
Being ahead of QLD in something
Even if it's just the time, we'll take it.
Working out what time it REALLY is
Because let's be honest - it's kind of fun.
Having dinner while it is still light
It's nice to sometimes eat outside rather than at the dining room table.
Staying up late because it seems so early as it's still light
We'll make any excuse to stay up late on a "school" night...
Doing the mental gymnastics when catching a flight from Coolanagatta
Because you get to use those mathematics skills you learnt at school (and may never have used since).
Being able to let your children enjoy the outside for longer
From some of our employees: "I love being able to have the kids out and about in the garden between dinner and bath time" and "sending the kids out to play while dinner is cooking."
Driving home after work without the sunset blinding my vision
It's a pleasure.
Not having the argument with your kids about going to bed "because it is still light"
You can put the little darlings in bed as soon as it's dark.
Not having to pay $2 extra to play tennis in the evening because the lights have to be turned on
Ok, this one is a little specific, but it's true for one of our journalists.
