Teen's alleged Coast rampage ends with 10 charges

A TEENAGER who allegedly bit and spit on police in Mooloolaba on the weekend is facing 10 charges including three relating to the serious assault of police officers.

Police believe the 18-year-old from Slacks Creek on Brisbane's south, went into a service station on Brisbane Rd, where he verbally abused a staff member.

After trying to reach the cash register but failing, he allegedly left the store and ripped fuel pumps from the bowsers as he passed.

Soon police allegedly found the man throwing stones at passing cars nearby.

When officers confronted the man, he allegedly struck them "before spitting directly in one officer's face".

In the struggling that followed, police believe the man bit an officer on the arm.

More officers arrived soon after to help take the man into custody.

He has now been charged with three counts of serious assault police, two counts of commit public nuisance and one count each of assault police, common assault, threatening violence and enter premises and commit indictable offence.

He is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday.
