LISMORE Police are appealing to the public for information after a 73-year-old man was assaulted and robbed in Goonellabah on Friday night.
The man was walking along a lane way in Hayes Street about 7.45pm when he was attacked from behind.
The offender demanded money and made off with the man's watch and a set of keys.
The victim managed to make his way to a nearby residence where police and ambulance were called. He was later taken to Lismore Base Hospital where he was treated for bruising and swelling to the face.
The offender is described as being male, aboriginal in appearance, aged in his late teens to early twenties, wearing a white hat, green shirt and grey pants with black bushy hair.
