THERE'S a new, younger "Warnie" making his way through the ranks of North Coast cricket.
Leg-spin spinbowler Zayd Thomas, 10, of Evans Head, won two Player of the Match medals in two different games at the North Coast representative carnival.
Zayd was also awarded Player of the Carnival for the Far North coast representative team who competed at a under-12s carnival held in Lismore.
He was runner-up over all Bowler of the Carnival having taken 11 wickets to the winners 13. In his best bowling performance Zayd took six wickets for 17 runs in eight overs.
