JANUARY brings great things for all Alice Springs Blues fans.

Performers including Angry Anderson (Rose Tattoo), Matt Taylor (Chain), Wilbur Wilde (Hey Hey Its Saturday & OL'55) and internationally renown Blues/Rock band The Giants will lead a line-up of fantastic Blues bands on two stages (indoor and outdoor) throughout the four day Blues and Roots Festival weekend from January 26 to 29, 2012.

Memo Club general manager Andrea Sullivan said: "The Memo Club is excited to bring this fantastic line-up of Blues performers to town.

"We are confident that this event will be well received by both our members and guests and visitors to Alice Springs. Support from sponsors including Carlton United Brewers, Imparja Television and 8HA has been invaluable."

The Memo Club is known for bringing great bands to Alice Springs; the idea to bring them all together and create a festival was a natural progression which has required months of planning for committee members, employees and performers.

Stuart Wood, lead singing of The Giants said that "he is very excited to be involved in the inaugural festival and is sure it will become a highlight on the Australian Blues Festival calendar."

Tourism Central Australia general manager Peter Solly said: "We are excited to see this new initiative in Alice Springs, and to hear that there are already people coming from interstate to attend the festival is great news, we will support the growth of this festival should the Memo move in this direction."

Tickets can be purchased at the Memo Club; $70.00 for a weekend pass and $45.00 for an evening pass featuring outdoor performances.

To book tickets call the Memorial Club on 8952 2166 or drop into the Club at 127-129 Todd Street, Alice Springs.
