Wolgan Valley's general manager, Joost Heymeijer was named 2012 Hotel Manager of the Year, while the resort was just of one 19 properties worldwide lauded as a 2012 Grand Award winner.
The prestigious Grand Awards by luxury travel expert Andrew Harper recognise the crème de la crème of properties visited over the past calendar year, with each demonstrating exceptional character, a commitment to classic hospitality and a profound sense of place.
"Andrew Harper is one of the most respected and influential people in luxury travel. To be honoured with recognition of this calibre and among esteemed peers is a remarkable achievement and an equally humbling experience," said Mr Heymeijer.
"Since opening just over two years ago, Wolgan Valley continues to reaffirm its position as a compelling, world-class destination typified by understated luxury, timeless elegance and a spectacular location. This award is a brilliant start to another significant year in the resort's history."
Andrew Harper and his editors travel incognito to write candid and unbiased travel reviews in a private monthly publication for sophisticated travellers. The selection of hotels, resorts and restaurants for inclusion in the publication is made on a completely independent basis, with Andrew Harper LLC paying full rate for all meals, lodging and related travel expenses.
