This is not a scientific poll. The results reflect only the opinions of those who chose to participate.

ALMOST 80 per cent of Australians believe airlines should permit in-flight intimacy, according to survey results from popular Byron Bay online travel business, Totaltravel, which asked if airlines should have a 'no-nookie' policy in private suites.

Following the recent introduction of Qantas’ A380 - an aircraft which offers first-class travellers their own private suite with a bed, mood lighting and complimentary champagne - the overwhelming majority of those polled responded that passengers should have the right to in-flight 'hanky panky' if they so desire.

But not everyone advocates an increase in mile-high club memberships. About 20 per cent of Australians polled maintain that sky-high sexual relations is offensive and inappropriate, despite the big-spender bucks that first-class passengers are shelling out for the new, ultra luxury amenities.

Yahoo!7 audience director, Kath Hamilton, says that clearly, love is in the air.

“If you’ve ever perused Totaltravel’s collaborative message boards, it’s fairly obvious that our users are a lively and passionate group, and our latest survey results prove that point!”
